Summary

KEY REPORTING Relationships Core · Reports functionally to the Managing Director for all Core activities. Projects · Reports into Client Project Managers on as-required basis (if deployed to Projects) · Direct supervisor of Instrument Discipline Specialists assigned to site-wide support, and provides technical management and direction of Area Discipline Specialists and System Owners in the execution of the Systems Completion process against the Area schedules. TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES · Provision of Instrumentation, Controls and Automation technical, planning and execution management support to Core Division and specified Client Project Teams. Core Specific · Develops and applies Instrumentation, Controls and Automation industry leading processes which demonstrate efficiencies during the engineering, planning and execution phases. · Contributes to in-house expertise, functional tools and new planning techniques with focus on the Systems Completion, Commissioning and Startup phases for mega-projects in the oil and gas industry. · Ownership of all Instrumentation, Controls and Automation test specifications and procedures (eg. A/B/C checksheet contents, general commissioning procedures) to ensure inclusion of latest industry technologies. · Strong engagement with industry ICSS and major equipment package suppliers. Projects Specific · Support and promote high level of safety culture during all Project planning and execution activities. · Provide Discipline technical leadership, expertise and Support to the Project Team for the full project life cycle starting at FEED, Detailed Engineering, Fabrication/Construction Commissioning, Start-up and Operations phases. · Drive an integrated Project Team approach that enables early Operations familiarisation, increased ownership and hands-on training opportunities of ICSS / DCS equipment. · Review and/or supports development of Commissioning Plans, such as General Commissioning Procedures, Method Statements and Detailed MICC/Vendor Package Commissioning Procedures, Systems Acceptance Procedures/Progress Monitoring, Turnover and Completion Packages, input to Start-up and Operating Procedures. · Perform sequencing and prioritization of all I&C commissioning schedule execution activities. · Ensure the right resource levels and technical skills are assigned to meet Project schedule requirements. · Provide discipline expertise for execution planning activities including resource management, schedule coordination, materials/tools/vendor support, system/equipment pre-requisite requirements. · Ensuring that equipment and systems are fully commissioned at Handover, and ready to operate in compliance with the Project design, standards and specifications, the Systems Completion Plan and Control Procedures. · Managing and directing core discipline teams of supervisors and technicians, vendors and specialist subcontractors/ third party personnel across all plant areas (as well as at SITs and SAT’s). QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE · University Degree in Controls & Automation in addition to 12+ years of Engineering, Project Planning & Execution and Operations experience with Onshore and Offshore Oil and Gas Facilities with ExxonMobil. · Established track record or supervision and working within of large teams through Mechanical Completion, Commissioning, Start-up and initial Plant Operations. · Expert working knowledge of the following: o Plant ICSS Delta V and Delta V SIS o Design and commissioning for smart I/O (electronic marshalling) systems for DeltaV, and Honeywell, Yokagawa and Experion PKS o Complete control systems project lifecycle o Planning and leading Factory Acceptance Tests, Software Acceptance tests, Performance tests during start up · Proven strong technical skills in discipline subject matter of controls and automation systems for mega-facilities. · Good knowledge of integration with brownfield facilities & cutover/integration with complex 3rdparty equipment. · Good understanding of Fiber optic communication networks. · Planning and budgeting maintenance activities for I&C, knowledge of CMMS of Client Maintenance Systems (SAP) · In-depth knowledge of Project Completion standards, specifications, codes, and appropriate safety criteria. · Strong understanding of Project execution, Engineering, Construction, CSU & Completion practices. · Demonstrated management and organizational ability for diverse teams on large projects. · Strong understanding of work planning, scheduling and tracking. · Demonstrated work ethic with delivery focus with strong organizational ability. · Exposure to ExxonMobil Global Projects Company practices, processes, and expectations with respect to Engineering Design, Systems Completion, Preservation, Commissioning and Start-up & Operations. · Possess an ability to work in internationally remote locations to support mega-projects. · Read, write, and speak fluent English, especially as required to function effectively within a project team and to communicate with project management, contractors, and sub‑contractors. Job Type: Permanent Pay: $100,000.00 – $130,000.00 per year Schedule: Monday to Friday Weekend availability Ability to commute/relocate: Brisbane QLD: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required) Experience: Automation and Controls Engineering and Projects: 10 years (Required) ExxonMobil Upstream Facilities Projects and Operations: 10 years (Required) Work Authorisation: Australia (Preferred)
