We’re partnering with a well-established and mission-driven organization that is currently seeking a Controller to join their finance team. This is a high-impact, individual contributor role ideal for someone who thrives on ownership, accuracy, and cross-functional collaboration.

This is position is in office five days a week in Washington, DC.

Some Of The Responsibilities Include

• Prepare and deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP standards.
• Maintain accurate balance sheet accounts
• Manage fixed assets, capital expenditures, and depreciation schedules
• Reconcile bank and treasury accounts
• Calculate entrance fees and actuarial life estimates
• Serve as a functional user of the system for financial activities
• Collaborate monthly with external accountants on five-year planning initiatives
• Develop and uphold financial reporting processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness
• Implement and oversee internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with all relevant financial policies
• Manage the annual audit and Form 990 preparation
• Handle payroll funding and related financial processes
• Oversee tax and regulatory financial reporting
• Prepare and submit cost reports
• Conduct quarterly internal audits to verify full compliance with policies and lead the development of annual budgets and forecasts in coordination with department heads
• Review and analyze monthly expense variances to ensure accurate recording of actuals
  
  

Qualifications Required

• Bachelor’s Degree
• 5+ years of accounting or financial management experience
