Position Summary: Francis Energy is actively looking for a Controller to oversee accounting operations including AR/AP, work in process reporting and general ledger, job cost accounting and overall management of the Accounting Department. This position will report to the CFO. Duties include direct supervision of all accounting, prep and presentation of consolidated financial statements, providing reports to internal and external stakeholders, managing annual audits, and establishing and maintaining proper procedures and controls. The Controller must be agile and manage multiple projects, possess excellent oral and written communication skills, and be a thought leader. The candidate will be a leader of high integrity with exceptional management and motivational skills. Responsibilities: Supervise accounting staff and align resources to ensure the group continues to provide the rest of the business the support it needs amidst explosive growth. Manage Month End Close, work in process reporting and general ledger. Prepare Monthly Consolidation and Financial Reporting. Coordinate quarterly accounting reviews, annual audits, and tax returns. Develop and maintain the system of internal accounting controls. Ensure compliance with all accounting and financial regulations. Prepare and manage annual and project specific budgets, including rolling monthly forecasts. Maintain state registrations, business, and tax licenses. Participate in and support ongoing improvement initiatives. Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by leadership. Education and Experience: 5 + years of experience in accounting or finance as Assistant Controller or higher level. Bachelors’ degree in accounting or finance; Big 4 CPA Audit experience strongly preferred. Strong familiarity with ASC 606, ASC 842, and Fixed Asset Management. Strong knowledge of Excel, Microsoft Office 365 required, experience with Sitetracker and in current ERP systems. Self-Starter and driven individual that can take initiative with limited instruction. Leadership skills and ability to manage a team and work effectively with Executive Management Team. Work with Senior Management and Operations Managers to ensure financial directives are followed. Experience dealing with banks and financial institutions. Knowledge of federal and state government grants, applications, and billing is a plus.
