Toronto, ON (Hybrid) | Full-time | Salary: $90,000–$115,000 CAD

The Opportunity

We're seeking a Controller to join our entrepreneurial, fast-paced, culture of a start-up Accounting and Finance team. Reporting directly to leadership, you will oversee accounting operations, drive financial reporting, and collaborate cross-functionally to support our strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare timely and accurate financial statements (balance sheets, income statements, cash flow).
• Lead month-end and year-end close processes.
• Conduct financial and variance analyses to inform senior leadership decision-making.
• Oversee accounting functions: AP, AR, general ledger.
• Development of internal controls, ensuring GAAP and tax compliance.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and KPI reporting.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Sales, Project Management) on financial strategy.
• Mentor and develop finance team members.
• Contribute to process improvements and system implementations (ERP, Power BI).

Who You Are

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; CPA designation completed or in progress preferred.
• 3-4 years experience in a manufacturing environment, including 1-2 years managing inventory.
• Hands-on experience working with companies in the $200M–$500M revenue range.
• Strong background in internal controls, financial systems (QuickBooks, Excel, ERP), and US taxation is an asset.
• Skilled in data-driven reporting and tools like Power BI.
• Legally authorized to work in Canada.
