A well-established commercial property management firm with operations in Ontario and Alberta is hiring a Controller. This is an ideal opportunity for a professional with a strong background in property accounting and deep experience with Yardi systems who is ready to take ownership of financial oversight in a stable, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee full-cycle accounting for a commercial property portfolio and corporate accounts
• Manage AP and AR functions, monthly journal entries, and bank reconciliation
• Prepare monthly financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and cash flow reports
• Conduct annual CAM/tax recovery reconciliations and interpret lease terms
• Monitor rent roll, tenant chargebacks, and support monthly reporting
• Liaise with auditors during year-end and prepare audit working papers
• Submit government remittances, including HST, payroll, and MPAC filing
• Support property managers and owners with financial insight and reporting

Qualification:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial property accounting
• At least 3 years of experience with Yardi Voyager and Yardi Elevate
• Proficiency in Excel and financial reporting
• Strong understanding of commercial lease terms and property-level accounting
• CPA designation is an asset, but not required
• Excellent attention to detail, communication skills, and organizational ability
• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada and able to commute to the office 3 days per week.
