Responsibilities

• Direct all accounting functions including general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and collections. Ensure data accuracy and integrity
• Manage a timely month-end close process requiring a hands-on approach including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and any necessary processing required to develop the financial reporting package
• Preparation of monthly balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement and other reports as needed
• Identify and implement efficiencies and best practices across all areas of accounting and financial reporting and planning
• Build and maintain accounting controls by recommending and documenting policies and procedures
• Act as a mentor to accounting team members and guide staff development as it relates to accounting skills and technology
• Serve as financial leader on NetSuite ERP improvement projects
• Collaborate and partner with other members of the leadership team as well as external partners such as accountants and bank contacts
  
  

Qualifications

• Accounting or Finance degree required
• Experience with NetSuite ERP required
• At least 5 years of progressive experience in an Accounting Manager, Assistant Controller, or Controller role within a closely-held entity
• Proven management experience with the ability to lead and mentor a small team
• Required proficiency in review of financial records and transaction details. Added consideration will be given to experience in identifying and recommending mediation company risk
• Proven communication skills explaining complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders
