Responsibilities
Direct all accounting functions including general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and collections. Ensure data accuracy and integrity
Manage a timely month-end close process requiring a hands-on approach including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and any necessary processing required to develop the financial reporting package
Preparation of monthly balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement and other reports as needed
Identify and implement efficiencies and best practices across all areas of accounting and financial reporting and planning
Build and maintain accounting controls by recommending and documenting policies and procedures
Act as a mentor to accounting team members and guide staff development as it relates to accounting skills and technology
Serve as financial leader on NetSuite ERP improvement projects
Collaborate and partner with other members of the leadership team as well as external partners such as accountants and bank contacts
Qualifications
Accounting or Finance degree required
Experience with NetSuite ERP required
At least 5 years of progressive experience in an Accounting Manager, Assistant Controller, or Controller role within a closely-held entity
Proven management experience with the ability to lead and mentor a small team
Required proficiency in review of financial records and transaction details. Added consideration will be given to experience in identifying and recommending mediation company risk
Proven communication skills explaining complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders
