The Controller will serve as a key leader in the Accounting/Finance department, responsible for managing all aspects of financial reporting, compliance, internal controls, and accounting operations. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with deep technical accounting expertise, strong business acumen, and an exceptional eye for detail. This role requires a forward-thinking leader who can partner cross-functionally and support strategic decision-making with reliable, data-driven insights.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and tax compliance
• Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closes
• Maintain and enhance robust internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory standards
• Proactively research, interpret, and implement new accounting standards and guidance, ensuring compliance and best practices across the organization
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to anticipate financial needs and proactively address accounting or operational challenges
• Analyze complex accounting issues and provide clear, actionable recommendations
• Lead the audit process and liaise with external auditors and consultants
• Develop and mentor a high-performing accounting team
• Evaluate and implement systems and process improvements to increase accuracy, efficiency, and scalability
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
• Serve as a key resource to senior leadership for technical accounting questions and special projects
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA required
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting and corporate experience
• Deep knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
• Demonstrated experience leading audits, managing teams, and implementing internal controls
• Strong ability to research and apply new accounting guidance and standards
• Exceptional attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, or similar) and Excel
• A proactive mindset with the ability to anticipate issues, identify opportunities, and drive continuous improvement
