TDG Transit Design Group is seeking an experienced Controller to be based out of Mississauga, Ontario.

Overview of Position: Offering competitive compensation package, benefits package and opportunity for growth within company. The Controller will be involved with maximizing return on financial assets by establishing financial policies, procedures, controls and reporting systems.

General Duties:

• Monitors and confirms financial condition by conducting audits; providing information to external auditors.
• Prepares budgets by establishing, collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data; recommending plans of action.
• Achieves budget objectives by scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
• Comply with federal, provincial, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing financial reports; advising management on needed actions.
• Maintain financial staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
• Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5+ years Accounting experience in midsize company (20-50 employees)
• Previous management experience required (at least 3 employees)
• Related accounting designations, Degree preferred.
• Software: Quickbooks Enterprise, Intermediate Knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Experience working with International companies, foreign exchange etc
