Summary

OPT Industries is an advanced manufacturing company that designs and produces products using its proprietary additive manufacturing platforms. Our products span industries including medical devices, beauty, and other consumer products. As we scale rapidly, we’re seeking a Controller to be the key owner of daily accounting operations. This individual will be responsible for the financial statement close, internal and external reporting to investors, and upgrades to accounting and other financial systems.


Responsibilities

  • Owning various accounting processes (accounts receivable and billing, accounts payable and cash management) to ensure a rapid and accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial close
  • ​Generate monthly reporting packages to ensure accuracy of financial information, including follow-up and resolution of any potential variances identified
  • Manage and review preparation of all balance sheet account reconciliations.
  • Collaborate with external parties during financial audit or tax filings.
  • Be a subject matter resource for existing and emerging accounting policies and principles, and assist with the drafting and/or review of technical accounting positions and policy memos as necessary
  • Maintain and refine Inventory and CoGs systems across multiple product families.
  • Work with production and supply chain functions to refine BOMs, routing, and overhead allocation models.
  • Supervises treasury functions including management of bank accounts, investments and banking relationships, ensuring compliance with internal controls, the Company's table of approval authorities and approved investment policy. Supervise company credit card administration

Qualifications5

  • 8 years of progressive experience in accounting in manufacturing or product-centric environments.
  • Previous experience as a Senior Accounting Manager or Assistant Controller level
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, inventory accounting, and standard costing systems.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks or similar) and Excel/Google Sheets.
  • Experience building cost models from scratch or improving financial infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated record of highest professional ethics; ability to work proactively with all levels of the organization; excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience working with an external accounting and auditing team.
  • CPA certification is required
