We have a high-visibility opportunity for a process-driven Controller reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, responsible for managing the accounting team; leading month-end as well as year-end close activities, including revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606; and oversight of financial reporting and the financial accounting department.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Management of accounting operations to include General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and Accounts Payable.
* Monthly P&L presentation to senior management and owners, and P&L forecast updates including cash flow forecast.
* Review and approve purchases per authority matrix.
* Establish and maintain a strong internal control environment to ensure continuous compliance with applicable policies and procedures, Federal regulations, and contractual requirements.
* Assess current practices and procedures and make recommendations for improvements.
* Manage accounting staff, including managing performance, goal setting, providing ongoing training, and maintaining strong employee relationships.
* Provide a portfolio analysis to senior leadership to include EAC Execution vs. Budget variance analysis, profit analysis, and make recommendations to meet company financial objectives.
Required Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
* 8-10 years of progressively responsible accounting and financial experience with controller responsibility working for a Government Contractor.
* Experience in Government Contracting Finance to include: All Contract types (CP, T&M, and FFP), EACs, Proposal Pricing, and Contract Modifications.
* Thorough knowledge of U.S. GAAP, CAS and FAR.
* Expertise in Deltek Costpoint ERP system.
* Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
* Secret clearance or the ability to obtain Secret clearance.
* Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills; must be able to interact and communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization.
* Must be able to adapt to a dynamic and growth-oriented culture and work well in a team environment.
* Public accounting experience a plus.
* CPA certificate is a plus.

* Work is typically performed in an office setting.

* Must have the ability to lift 15-25 pounds
