The Controller is responsible for overseeing the company’s financial operations, such as managing financial reporting, accounting, budgeting, and compliance with regulations.
Responsibilities
Audit vendor invoices and posting ledger Record and classify GL transactions
Record and process deposits – ACH and checks Maintain deposit reports for audit
ACH and check positive pay clearance
Ensure all GL records and postings adhere to Generally Accepted Accounting Principals Maintain GL integrity
Monitor cash flow balance
Process checks for utilities, insurance, credit cards, etc.
Record and classify payroll transactions from payroll register (Dominion/Isolved) Record and classify 401(k) retirement report transactions
Reconcile bank statements and LOC transactions
Audit AP transactions and closing AP with accounting assistant (AA) Print AP reports
Make check payment selections from AP aging report Print checks batches – 10, 17, 24, 31
Record and classify monthly financial transactions Audit AR transactions and closing AR
Audit AR aging report for outstanding items Discuss collections with AA
Process pay applications and invoices Process and record Amex statements Sales tax filing and reporting
Issue Project Status Reports
Issue interim financial statement (FS) draft Issue final interim FS to officers
Property tax – Dekalb, Hall, Davidson County 1099’s - Misc, dividend, rent, lease, NEC Auto Inclusions
Issue dividend distribution checks GA/NC State business tax
