Location: Southern California (Hybrid – 2 days in office)

We’re partnering on a confidential search for a Controller to lead the accounting function for a growing Human Capital Management (HCM) company. This hybrid position requires in-office work two days per week and is open only to professionals currently located in Southern California.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all accounting operations, including payroll, tax, AP/AR, and month-end close
• Drive automation and process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy
• Manage and mentor a team of 5–6 accounting professionals
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and support audit readiness
• Provide financial insights to the executive team for planning and forecasting
  
  

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 5+ years as a Controller
• Strong operational leadership, with a track record of improving systems and workflows
• HCM/payroll processing experience required (PEO experience helpful but not required)
• Proficient in Sage Intacct, MasterTax, and iSolve
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Must currently reside in Southern California and be able to work onsite 2 days/week
