Robert Half is partnering with a Manufacturing client in Northern Colorado on a Controller role. It is a dynamic and growing small manufacturing company located in Northern Colorado. With a strong commitment to quality and customer satisfaction, we are looking for a hands-on, detail-oriented Controller to oversee our accounting operations and help drive financial success.
Job Summary
The Controller will be responsible for managing all aspects of the company’s financial operations, including full-cycle accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and work-in-progress (WIP) accounting. This is a key leadership role that reports directly to ownership and collaborates closely with operations and executive management.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including A/P, A/R, payroll, job costing, and inventory accounting.
- Maintain accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reporting.
- Prepare monthly financial statements and variance analysis.
- Manage and monitor Work-in-Progress (WIP) reporting and revenue recognition.
- Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management processes.
- Maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure GAAP compliance.
- Coordinate with external CPA for annual tax filings and audits.
- Develop and implement process improvements for greater efficiency and accuracy.
- Supervise and mentor small accounting staff or serve as a stand-alone accountant depending on company size.
This role is 100% in office and reports to the CFO. To be considered you must live in the Colorado.
Requirements
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or job-costing environment.
- Strong experience with Work-in-Progress (WIP) accounting and full-cycle accounting.
- Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, NetSuite, or ERP systems).
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- CPA preferred but not required.
- Hands-on and adaptable; comfortable working in a small company environment.
