Summary

We are a rapidly growing manufacturing private company expanding our Finance Team. Reporting to the CFO, the Controller is an integral part of the Briotech team. This position is responsible for a combination of hands-on work, overseeing key accounting functions and developing team members. The successful candidate will bring expertise in cost accounting, inventory, fixed assets, international consolidation, and general ledger. This role is critical to timely and accurate financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting activities, and leads the accounting team to maintain efficiency and compliance. The Controller will work closely with the CFO to ensure financial integrity and operational excellence.

This critical new role in Briotech’s finance team requires a proactive and detail-oriented leader who thrives in a growing company, and can drive accuracy, efficiency, and compliance while supporting the company’s financial goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounting Operations:

  • Direct all accounting operations including inventory, cost accounting, A/P, A/R, fixed assets, general ledger, and banking.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
  • Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Develop and distribute analytical management reports with actionable insights for leadership.
  • Manage international consolidation of financial data across multiple locations.
  • Establish and maintain internal controls to ensure financial compliance.
  • Maintain and enhance the financial reporting structure and general ledger.
  • Monitor and analyze cost of goods sold (COGS) and SG&A expenses.
  • Ensure compliance with banking requirements and manage financial reporting obligations.
  • Oversee fixed asset schedules, including acquisitions, disposals, and depreciation.


Cost Accounting & Manufacturing Support:

  • Develop and maintain cost accounting systems for manufacturing operations
  • Analyze production costs, variances, and yields to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Collaborate with operations teams to establish production KPIs and performance metrics
  • Support inventory management and valuation processes


Payroll & Benefits Administration

  • Process payroll transactions accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Ensure compliance with payroll tax reporting and filings.
  • Maintain employee payroll records and resolve discrepancies.
  • Assist with benefit enrollments, changes, and reconciliations.
  • Coordinate with HR to ensure accurate employee compensation and deductions.


Leadership:

  • Supervise and develop accounting staff, providing training and guidance and performance evaluations of direct reports.
  • Foster a collaborative environment to improve processes and workflows across departments.
  • Support the CFO in external audits, global finance requirements and regulatory compliance.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Expert in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Experience with ERP systems (Netsuite preferred).
  • Demonstrated experience implementing ERP systems and optimizing financial processes.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing cost accounting principles and practices.
  • Experience with multi-site operations and international financial consolidation.
  • Solid understanding of financial reporting, GAAP, and cost accounting.
  • Strong ability to analyze complex financial data and provide strategic insights.
  • Effective communicator who can collaborate across teams and influence decision-making.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to develop and mentor accounting staff.
  • Detail-oriented, results-driven, and highly organized.
