General Purpose
The Financial Controller is the leader of the accounting team. The controller assists to closely monitor Judson’s financial health. Maintains, manages, and analyzes financial statements, banking, budgets, audits, tax, compliance issues, and more. Assists and leads the accounting team in monthly close, budget projections, project analysis, and projected future outlook of company expense while looking for and guiding improvements. Acts as point person on audits and compliance measures. Reports to the CFO and supervises the Assistant Controller and Accounts Payable Clerk.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive financial updates to senior managers by evaluating, analyzing, and reporting appropriate data points
- Guide financial decisions by applying company policies and procedures to current economic landscape
- Develop, implement, and maintain financial controls and guidelines
- Monitor budgeting goals with proper scheduling, analysis, and corrective actions
- Assists as point person on audits and compliance measures
- Help develop and support short- and long-term operational strategies
- Maintain internal safeguards for revenue receipts, costs, and team and organizational budgets and actual expenditures
- Establish (in coordination with CFO and Senior FA) financial and operating benchmarks, budgets, program monitoring, and reporting standards on biweekly, monthly, and annual basis
- Implement consistent accounting policies, practices, and procedures across all programs, adhering to national and local legal standards while remaining knowledgeable of proposed legislation
- Develop and enforce internal controls to maximize protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflows
- Oversee and support accounting team with dynamic leadership that creates an environment of trust and productivity

Qualifications
- Required Skills and Qualifications
▪ CPA + Ten or more years of professional accounting experience
▪ Strong understanding of banking processes and financial data analysis
▪ Experience In Managing Others And Accounting Functions
▪ Demonstrated experience of financial project management
▪ Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (MBA preferred)
- Essential Physical Demands and Working Environment
▪ Ability to see, communicate, hear and utilize electronic communication devices.
▪ Office and facilities work environment.
▪ Minimal local travel between company sites from time to time
▪ Operation of numerous accounting software and ability to learn and implement new software
▪ Ability to lift, push, pull and carry up to 25 lbs.
