Our client, a rapidly growing private Residential Construction/Real Estate company in Southeast Calgary, is looking to hire a fulltime Financial Controller to join their team.

In this recently created role, the Financial Controller will be responsible for supervising 3 direct reports including Financial/GL Accounting and Accounts Payable, building and enhancing internal controls, accounting policies/research under ASPE, process documentation, managing the annual audit, preparing monthly and quarterly financial reporting, budgeting/forecasting, management reporting packs, and process improvements/efficiencies on an ongoing basis.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly and yearly financial statements and reports.
• Completing year-end including compliance & tax with External CPA firm.
• Implementation of policies, procedures & internal controls.
• Accounting policy research under ASPE for various transactions and structures.
• Oversee GST reporting, income tax & trust returns.
• Leadership / direct supervision of 3-4 direct reports

Qualifications

• CPA Designation is a must.
• 3+ years' Audit or Assurance experience including private client/ASPE experience
• 2+ years' post designation, 5+ years' total related experience
