Our client, a privately held commercial construction services company, seeks a Controller to join its management team. The company has been built on the foundation of high-quality products and services, and the goal of creating a team-focused and innovative environment that fosters open communication and long-term sustainability.
Reporting to the CEO, the Controller will be responsible for financial reporting, operational management reporting and analysis, performance measurement, cash management, budgeting and forecasting, and internal controls. Working closely with operations, you will have a strong track record of experience working in a construction services company, understanding job costing, estimating, inventory and labor costs, WIP, tracking KPIs, and reporting. In addition, the Controller will work closely with the IT and HR departments to ensure the integrity and efficiency of the company’s accounting systems, payroll, and employee documentation. You must be hands-on while directing a small team of two people. This is an on-site position working closely with operations, installation, and service teams.
The successful candidate will have a track record of success in creating, analyzing, and reporting within a job or project costing setting, be comfortable in a small office setting, and have a construction or manufacturing background. Proven supervisory skills are necessary, as are effective communication skills. You will also require above-average software skills, including an excellent EXCEL, and experience with Jonas, Time Tracking systems, and other ERP tools.
