Title: VP, Corporate Controller
Location: Boston, MA (Hybrid)
Company Summary: $200M+, PE backed SaaS Company. Company is doing well with M&A aspirations.
A rapidly scaling technology firm with a global footprint is active in their search for a VP, Corporate Controller. Reporting directly to the CFO, this individual will oversee all aspects of accounting, reporting, audit, and financial operations, while playing a strategic role in scaling the finance infrastructure to support rapid global expansion. The VP will be a key partner on M&A transactions, technical accounting, and cross-functional initiatives to optimize internal systems and processes. This is a highly visible leadership role, responsible for managing a geographically distributed team and ensuring financial integrity as the company matures.
Responsibilities
- Direct all accounting activities, both technical and operations, across the organization ensuring compliance with US GAAP and corporate policies and procedures.
- Oversee global revenue recognition, ensuring all contracts comply with ASC606.
- Oversee the monthly close process, accountable for achieving Company’s days to close target.
- Evaluate and automate accounting processes to drive a faster monthly/quarterly close cycle and improved accuracy.
- Partner effectively with other finance team members and non-accounting functions to drive improved controls and process enhancements.
- Lead accounting activities around potential acquisitions including due diligence
- Mentor and manage a global team, ensuring all members are aligned with global accounting policies and best practices.
- Provide technical accounting direction regarding any relevant new accounting guidance..
- Manage the annual external audit with Company’s independent auditors.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA strongly preferred.
- Prior experience as a Controller or VP-level finance leader within a growth-stage or private equity-backed software/technology firm (ideally $100M–$200M in revenue).
- Proven expertise in technical accounting and revenue recognition (ASC 606).
- Experience leading teams through process improvement, system implementations (Sage Intacct a plus), and organizational scaling.
- Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with multiple workstreams and evolving priorities.
- Skilled in managing distributed teams and influencing across the business.
- Strong knowledge of global accounting operations and experience working with international subsidiaries or expansion initiatives.
- Previous experience leading the accounting function through M&A transactions is a plus.
- Executive presence and ability to partner with C-suite leadership and external stakeholders.
