Position Overview
The financial controller plays a pivotal role in overseeing the company’s financial performance at both the legal entity and consolidated levels. This role partners with various departments such as sales, marketing, and product development to provide financial support for various projects and initiatives. The controller will conduct in-depth analysis of gross margin and product costs, evaluate the impact of manufacturing expenses on financial reports, and provide strategic financial guidance to the leadership team. Additionally, this role works closely with the financial analyst team during the month-end closing process, ensuring accurate budget-to-actual comparisons. Interaction with the European headquarters is essential for aligning processes, reporting standards, and the implementation of financial tools.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze and compare monthly financial results to forecast and prior periods.
Prepare and review cost center expenses, conduct financial analyses, and record journal entries as needed.
Ensure accuracy and clarity in all financial reporting, working with complex systems.
Present consolidated financial results (sales, margin, profitability) and highlight key risks and opportunities to senior management.
Conduct product cost analysis across various manufacturing locations.
Support the creation and implementation of new financial tools and reporting methodologies.
Undertake additional financial projects as assigned, including long-term planning and global reporting.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
Minimum 5 years of experience in a financial controlling role.
Strong ability to analyze complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
Exceptional problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.
Attention to detail to ensure the accuracy of financial reports, budgets, and communications with management.
Ability to adapt to changes in technology, business requirements, and regulations while ensuring financial accuracy.
Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams and senior leaders.
Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and financial reporting tools; SAP experience is a plus.
