Summary

Pay Range : $40 to $52/hr on W2


Responsibilities:

  • Review hardware and software requirements proposed to meet specifications prior to and after an Order is received.
  • Recommend action to Project Manager if discrepancies are noted. Provide guidance and direction to the project team to achieve customer expectations, project cost, schedule and technical goals.
  • Represent the Systems Engineering department at a customer kickoff meeting and design review meetings.
  • Plan software work to conform to schedule, and determine tasks which can be given to support staff or other technical personnel assigned to the project. Delegate such task and oversee their execution.
  • Resolve technical problems with customers as quickly as possible during execution of work, including remotely supporting client’ own Field Service Technicians while they are on job sites.
  • Determine when changes result in an adjustment to contract price, a change in specified equipment, or other significant change in scope.
  • Using a customer-approved Cause & Effect table & tag names, develop and maintain the client -proprietary Eagle Quantum Premier S3 software.
  • Develop and maintain HMI / Graphics for end-users, including Aveva Wonderware (PC-based) and Proface systems.
  • Maintain Modbus communications tables for interfacing EQP controllers with third-party systems.
  • Lead or assist with device setup & testing, network design and setup.
  • Be able to use VBA & Excel as needed.
  • Occasionally host and conduct client acceptance testing at the factory as needed.

Other Job Functions:

  • Help create and maintain an AutoCAD standards library for your use throughout the Systems Engineering department.
  • Support proposals in specifying equipment needs to satisfy project specifications.


Educational requirements:

  • BS Electrical Engineering and/or Computer Science degree, or Associates Degree in related technical discipline, or at least five years’ experience in fire alarm system design. Graduates of trade schools will definitely be considered.
  • Additional experience in the low-voltage controls field, especially using Fire Alarm Control Panels (FACPs), PLC’s, Safety Systems, Petrochemical or Munitions experience is a plus.
  • HVAC / Building Automation Systems (BAS) or Security Systems or other low-voltage controls experience (like industrial controls) is also a plus.


Qualifications:

  • NICET Level III in Fire Alarm Systems preferred, Level I minimum. Note: NICET Level I is relatively easy to obtain.
  • Proficient with the use of CAD or similar drawing package with experience in producing shop drawings. Experience with AutoCAD / AutoCAD Electrical is preferred.
  • Experience with JDE or another SAP or ERP system for parts, BoM’s and other project maintenance is preferred.
  • Requires good team participation, planning, organizational, time management and communications skills. Ability to work quickly and accurately and handle multiple projects.
  • Experience with Detector Electronics Corporation products and system integration practices or related industry considered a plus.
  • Any sort of Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) programming experience would be a plus in this role.
