Job Description

Unite People are a specialist construction & building recruitment company, working with a successful civils & groundworks contractor to hire a Contracts Manager.\n\nThe successful candidate will be responsible for dealing with a multitiude of clients, drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts with clients, contractors, and suppliers during all aspects of pre-construction, delivery and handover of projects.\n\nSchemes will range from £500k - £10m in value. You will benefit from working on a range of groundworks contracts for infrastructure, residential developments, commercial builds and public framework schemes.\n\nThe role will ideally suit an individual from an Engineering/ technical background within civil & construction. You will benefit from a strong support team, and a healthy business mix of projects as part of a growing order book.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\n * Overseeing Project Management staff, ensuring smooth running of sites.\n\n * Provide input to facilitate successful delivery of construction packages.\n\n * Collaborate with clients and designers to understand project requirements and expectations.\n\n * Work with project Managers to provide comprehensive project plans, including schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.\n\n * Manage and negotiate contracts with subcontractors and vendors.\n\n * Oversee project budgets with commercial and Project Management staff, and identify cost-saving opportunities.\n\n * Provide regular project updates to clients, addressing any concerns and ensuring satisfaction.\n\n * Proactively identify and address potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies.\n\n * Ensure timely completion of project milestones and final delivery.\n\nQualifications & Experience:\n\n * Preferably a degree or equivalent in civil engineering, Construction Management, or a related field\n\n * Preferably an Engineering background\n\n * Knowledge of construction processes, methods, and materials.\n\n * Excellent organisational and leadership skills.\n\n * Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.\n\nBenefits:\n\n * The opportunity to work on a range of challenging schemes in the Yorkshire and East Midlands areas.\n\n * Competitive Salary\n\n * Car allowance/ company vehicle\n\n * Fuel Card\n\n * Bonus scheme\n\nSalary bandings are depending on previous, relevant experience and open to negotiation.
