Your Role This position will be a critical team member of the Contracts Team within the broader Legal Department. You will be responsible for the organization and maintenance of commercial contracts across the Casey's enterprise including the review and preparation of template agreements under the guidance and supervision of an attorney. In this role, you will maintain and prioritize the queue of contracts submitted for legal review. This critical work will necessitate liaising with business partners to understand each request, identifying the level of review required and managing expectations through consistent communication between the Contracts Team and its internal business clients. Further, you will maintain the repository of Casey's executed commercial contracts; perform cursory reviews of third-party contracts; maintain, update and publish contract templates; draft, prepare and send non-standard correspondence, memos and reports; and manage various projects. The Contracts Manager will also play an important role in the implementation and operation of the Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) system. What You'll Do * Join a growing Contracts & Commercial Transactions team within the Legal function of a fast-growing company. * Build trusted relationships across all levels and departments throughout Casey's and timely fulfill internal inquiries for contracts, documents and other information. * Identify, develop and implement best practices and improvements to the contract review workflow process, template creation and maintenance and document retention process including drafting contract guidance and training materials. * Work productively with colleagues, clients and third-party support including temporary team members, contractors and outside counsel, as necessary. * Willingly take direction, seek feedback and accept coaching from attorneys, peers, legal assistants, paralegals and business partners. * Provide general support and guidance to the Sourcing & Procurement Teams. * Support contract-related activities and perform other duties as assigned. Compensation: Starting pay range: $28/hour - $36/hour. Actual pay may vary based on Casey's assessment of the candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs), related experience, education and qualifications. Additionally, this position is eligible for an annual cash bonus based on company performance. Our full salary range for this role does extend beyond the typical hiring range listed, allowing team members the opportunity to continue to grow within the company. Other factors impacting pay include local prevailing wages and internal equity. What You'll Need * Associate's degree in a relevant field or equivalent work-related experience and/or Paralegal Certification. * Minimum three years of legal experience with strong legal research abilities and familiarity with diverse commercial contracts, contract terms of art, contract construction, standard terms and conditions and clause variations. * Ability to take ownership, know when to seek advice AND actually seek advice (when necessary)-all with a cooperative, team-centric, goal-focused approach, and can-do attitude. * Capability to understand and prioritize competing interests, personalities and business requests. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Power BI. Experience working with a CLM system, SharePoint web publishing & Power Apps is beneficial, but not required. * Self-awareness, professionalism, flexibility, organization, an open mind, resourcefulness and a desire to learn, develop new skills and support other areas of the Legal team, as needed. * Attention to detail, a sense of humor, dedication, a desire to learn, creativity, high personal standards, resilience, patience, a strong work ethic and the ability to: * work autonomously and as part of a team; * simultaneously juggle multiple projects; * maintain confidences; and * have fun.
