Summary

Temporary Human Resources (Benefits) Specialist/Analyst for a Three-Month Contract


We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Temporary Benefits Specialist to provide critical support during a 3-month maternity leave. This role will primarily focus on vendor bill reconciliation and supporting our HR Information System (HRIS) transition project.


Candidates must be willing to commute to our corporate location in Des Plaines, IL. This is not a remote position.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform accurate and timely reconciliation of all vendor bills related to employee benefits (e.g., medical, dental, vision, life insurance) against internal records and payroll deductions using advanced Excel functions.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies in benefits billing, coordinating with vendors and internal teams as needed.
  • Assist with various tasks related to the new HRIS implementation project, including data validation, testing, and documentation.
  • Support the project manager or HRIS lead with project tracking, communication, and task coordination for the system transition.
  • Provide essential daily benefits administration support, which may include:
  • Processing basic enrollments, terminations, and changes in benefits plans.
  • Responding to routine employee benefits inquiries.
  • Maintaining accurate employee benefits files.
  • Prepare basic benefits-related reports as required.
  • Perform other related job duties as required, within the scope of training and expertise.


Hourly Rate - $35-52 per hour


Requirements and Qualifications


  • Bachelor's Degree is strongly preferred
  • 3+ years of demonstrated experience in vendor bill reconciliation or accounts payable, preferably within a benefits or HR context.
  • Proven proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and complex formulas for data analysis and reconciliation.
  • Basic understanding of employee benefits administration principles and processes.
  • Experience or advanced aptitude for project support, with an ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with HRIS systems is a plus.


This is a 1099 contract position as we are not entertaining third-party agencies at this time
