The purpose of this position is to design, build, and implement, & coordinate the sustainment of 6S throughout Production Operations\. In this position you will have the opportunity to provide vision and support for 6S implementation; facilitate improvement efforts \(6S, Visual Factory, Safety, etc\.\)\. You will contribute to problem solving efforts\.
Job Functions/Responsibilities
Train employees in 6S/Visual Factory concepts/principles\.
Develop effective training materials, tools, and resources\.
Prepare/install visual postings for 6S and improvements \(signs, markings, etc\.\)\.
Facilitate and participate in ongoing improvement projects involving 6S, Safety, etc\.
Coordinate with leadership to implement projects, sustain/audit, and create actionable plans for improvement\.
Develop an annual strategy for improvements and projects\.
Monitor 6S improvement projects to mitigate any obstacles\.
Establishes metrics to monitor/sustain improvements \(inspections, audits, etc\.\)\.
Audit factory and office areas to ensure compliance/sustainment\.
Participate in problem solving throughout the factory/office to provide physical/visual solutions\.
Use a variety of hand and power tools to build/install solutions\.
Serve as Performance Excellence Continuous Improvement Engineer for variety of organizations at LM Space\. This role requires great communication skills and project management experience\.
**Basic Qualifications:**
Bachelors degree from an accredited college or equivalent experience/combined education, with 2\+ years of professional experience; or professional experience with a Masters degree or 5\+ years of related experience in lieu of degree\.
6S \(or 5S\) and/ or Project management experience\.
Proficient in basic computer skills\.
Experience leading continuous improvement projects\.
Experience briefing status to upper\-level management\.
**Desired Skills:**
Specialized training in 6S, Visual Factory, Leader Standard Work, Visual Boards/Metrics, and Change Management preferred\.
Strong mechanical and technical aptitude\.
Manufacturing Production experience\.
High competency with process improvement\. Green Belt Certified\.
Works well on a team as well as independently\.
Experience developing business cases and cost savings packages

**Pay Rate:** The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York \(excluding most major metropolitan areas\), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington or Washington DC is $63,800 \- $112,470\. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location\. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only\. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as \(but not limited to\) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer\.
