The Role

The Targeted Content team designs and delivers content that helps millions of Australians looking for work. We are seeking APS6 Content Designers to create, review and update content for Workforce Australia and related programs, focusing on the notifications channel.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the channel lead, you will be primarily responsible for managing, designing and writing notification content for Workforce Australia and related programs. Notification channels include:

  • email
  • SMS
  • inbox
  • mobile app
  • scripts.

You’ll work closely with other team members to make sure that your content aligns with content for the Workforce Australia website, digital assistant and other channels.

You’ll also have the opportunity to manage content projects across other channels, such as the Workforce Australia website, and contribute to the ongoing development of content patterns and standards.

You’ll be able to work from one of our offices in major cities as part of a virtual team.

Duties And Responsibilities

Your responsibilities as an APS Level 6 Content Designer may include:

  • design, plan and write best practice content that meets user needs, in line with the Australian Government Style Manual, including accessibility and readability standards
  • use and contribute to departmental style guides, content patterns, strategies and policies
  • develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders at all levels
  • use evidence, data and research to improve content and optimise the user experience
  • work with multidisciplinary teams in an agile project environment, using Azure Dev Ops to manage work with technical delivery teams
  • develop knowledge and document notification triggers in the IT systems
  • work autonomously and as part of a team, providing support to content leads, channel leads, the director, and mentor less experienced staff.

Note: This is a specialist content designer and writer role, rather than an IT-focused role. However, you will be working closely with IT teams.
