Summary

Job Overview

We are seeking a Consulting Assistant to support our tax and accounting services for foreign

subsidiaries (particularly French companies) operating in Japan.

The ideal candidate will have a foundational understanding of accounting principles, knowledge of

Japanese tax and compliance regulations, and fluency in both French and Japanese to facilitate

seamless communication with clients and local authorities.


Key Responsibilities:

Client Support:

  • Assist in preparing financial statements, tax filings, and compliance reports for foreign subsidiaries in Japan.
  • Support consultations for French clients on Japanese accounting standards (JGAAP), tax laws, and statutory requirements.
  • Translate documents (French-Japanese) and act as a liaison between clients and local authorities.

Accounting & Compliance:

  • Help maintain accurate accounting records and ensure adherence to Japanese regulations.
  • Assist with payroll processing, invoicing, and expense tracking for client subsidiaries.
  • Support audits and due diligence processes.

Research & Documentation:

  • Stay updated on changes in Japanese tax laws, accounting standards (e.g., JGAAP/IFRS), and corporate compliance.
  • Prepare reports and presentations in both French and Japanese.

Administrative Tasks:

  • Schedule meetings, manage client correspondence, and coordinate with cross-border teams.


Qualifications & Skills:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.

Experience:

  • 1–3 years of experience in accounting, tax, or audit (experience in a multinational firm is a plus).
  • Familiarity with **Japanese tax laws** (e.g., CIT, VAT, transfer pricing) and accounting practices.

Languages:

  • Fluent in Japanese (business proficiency; JLPT N2 or higher preferred).
  • Fluent in French (written and spoken; ability to explain technical concepts).
  • Ability to communicate in English is necessary. Advanced proficiency is a bonus.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and cultural sensitivity.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with French companies or subsidiaries.
  • Knowledge of accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Quickbooks or Japanese HR ERP like Freee).
