We are seeking a detail-oriented Construction Risk Assessment Engineer to join our team for an electrical substation project. The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and mitigating risks associated with the construction phase of the project. This role involves close collaboration with various departments to ensure safety standards are met and risks are minimized.
What will you do?
- Conduct Risk Assessments: Perform detailed risk assessments on potential hazards related to the construction of electrical substations.
- Develop Mitigation Strategies: Design and implement risk mitigation plans to address identified risks.
- Safety Audits: Conduct regular safety audits to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
- Technical Review: Review technical documents, plans, and proposals to identify potential risks.
- Documentation: Create and maintain documentation related to risk assessment processes and results.
- Training: Provide training to staff on risk management practices and procedures.
- Emergency Planning: Participate in emergency response planning and drills.
- Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to implement safety measures and keep them informed of potential risks
Experience, Education and other Required:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in electrical or civil engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in risk assessment, preferably in construction projects involving electrical substations.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications in risk management or safety (e.g., Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Project Management Professional (PMP)).
- Skills: Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Industry Standards: Familiarity with IEEE, ANSI, NEMA, and other relevant industry standards.
- Safety Regulations: Knowledge of federal, state, and local safety regulations.
- Technical Expertise: Understanding of electrical substation design and construction processes.
