Job Summary

The Construction Site Coordinator is responsible for overseeing on-site activities for excavation and earthworks projects. This role ensures that all excavation operations run smoothly, efficiently, and safely while maintaining compliance with project plans, schedules, and budgets. The ideal candidate will coordinate labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractors to support the successful completion of excavation projects.


Key ResponsibilitiesOn-Site Coordination

  • Supervise daily excavation and earthmoving operations, ensuring work is completed according to specifications.
  • Coordinate and schedule labor, equipment, and material deliveries to optimize productivity.
  • Collect and Record Site Documents, Aggregate Bills, Trucking Invoices, Soilflo
  • Ensure all underground utilities, site boundaries, and grading requirements are properly marked and followed.


Project Planning and Execution

  • Assist in reviewing and interpreting project plans, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Work closely with the Project Manager and Site Superintendent to track project progress and adjust schedules as needed.
  • Monitor excavation depths, trenching, backfilling, and grading to ensure compliance with engineering plans.


Safety and Compliance

  • Enforce OSHA and company safety policies to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Conduct safety inspections, toolbox talks, and site audits to mitigate risks.
  • Ensure proper shoring, sloping, and trench protection methods are used in excavation work.


Material and Equipment Management

  • Coordinate the mobilization and demobilization of excavation equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, and dump trucks.
  • Track material usage, deliveries, and site inventory to prevent shortages or delays.
  • Work with mechanics and operators to ensure equipment is maintained and operating properly.


Communication and Reporting

  • Act as the primary on-site liaison between project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and field crews.
  • Provide daily reports on job progress, site conditions, material usage, and labor hours.
  • Communicate any site challenges, delays, or unforeseen conditions to the project management team.


Problem-Solving and Quality Control

  • Identify and resolve on-site issues related to excavation, soil conditions, drainage, or equipment breakdowns.
  • Ensure quality control measures are in place for excavation, grading, and backfilling operations.
  • Work with surveyors and engineers to verify grades, elevations, and compaction requirements.


QualificationsEducation & Experience

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in construction site coordination, preferably in excavation, earthworks, or heavy civil construction.


Skills & Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of excavation techniques, trenching, grading, and soil compaction.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints, survey stakes, and grading plans.
  • Familiarity with heavy equipment operation, maintenance, and safety requirements.
  • Proficiency in project tracking software, Microsoft Office, and basic scheduling tools.


Other Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to multiple job sites as needed.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and physically demanding environments.
  • Ability to lift heavy object and move them around


Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
