As a Project Manager / Estimator for Modus Construction, you will have a key position in the growth and value of the company. You’ll be a part of our company’s leadership team and a project specific leadership team. You’ll be the office lead of small scale (100K) to large scale (20MM) projects.


JOB OVERVIEW:

The Project Manager is a key role in the company’s success. Involved in almost every aspect of managing the project from estimating the project, to the bid presentation and negotiations, to the successful execution and closing of the project. The PM is the liaison between the Project and the Client and the Design Team. The PM works together with and supports the field operations with timely supply of information, materials, workforce, and management, and is ultimately responsible for the success of the Project. The PM is responsible for ensuring the project is completed successfully and consistent with the company’ values while enriching the company’s relationship with the Client.


RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

  • Estimating and scope of work creation
  • Contract evaluations and negotiations
  • Project leadership and management including being able to adjust and be creative
  • Soliciting, reviewing, awarding, tracking, and managing of vendor and subcontractor agreements
  • RFI, Submittal, and Change Order creation, coordination, and tracking
  • Invoicing and project cost tracking and reporting
  • Enhance customer relations
  • Scheduling the work of the project and look ahead a minimum of three months out. Work with the Superintendent in setting shorter supporting goals
  • Work with and aid the Superintendent in overseeing the field operations and the leadership of daily and weekly activities and able to set and enforce deadlines
  • Ensuring the project is meeting our standards for safety, quality, timeliness and cost
  • Ability to proactively identify risks and potential issues, problem solve, and research and implement solutions
  • Ability to manage and lead project meetings
  • Organize and keep file systems
  • Other jobsite duties as they may arise.


REPORTS TO:

The Project Manager will report to the SR. Project Manager (if applicable), and the COO or CEO.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 10+ years of experience in the construction industry. A degree in the construction field preferred
  • Proven leadership and management skills
  • Good customer, personnel, and contractor relations
  • Experience in estimating and take-offs
  • Computer skills and willing to learn new software
  • Great writing and communication skills
  • A team player that is willing to learn and grow
  • Fluent in print and specification reading and interpreting.
