Position Overview
The Construction Project Manager - Heavy Civil will be responsible for overseeing and managing large-scale construction projects within the heavy civil sector, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all phases of heavy civil construction projects, from pre-construction to completion.
- Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets while ensuring resources are effectively allocated.
- Coordinate and collaborate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project goals are met.
- Conduct site inspections to monitor progress and ensure adherence to safety regulations and quality standards.
- Prepare and present project updates to stakeholders and management, addressing any challenges that may arise.
- Manage project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and progress reports.
- Utilize scheduling software and estimating tools to manage timelines and budgets effectively.
- Oversee procurement of materials and equipment necessary for project execution.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in construction project management, specifically in heavy civil projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations pertinent to heavy civil work.
- Proficient in project management software and scheduling tools such as CPM Scheduling.
- Experience with estimating and costing, including proficiency in estimating software.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to effectively manage teams and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to analyze problems and develop practical solutions in a fast-paced environment.
