Summary

Position Summary

The Construction Project Manager will oversee end-to-end project management for commercial construction initiatives, primarily in the retail grocery space. This includes managing MEP systems, construction schedules, budgets, contractors, and stakeholder communications. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of construction practices, vendor coordination, and regulatory compliance, especially within the retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Assist with bid reviews, cost estimating, pre-construction meetings, and project kickoff activities.
  • Review contractor submittals, construction schedules, RFIs, and change orders.
  • Monitor project budgets and schedules; negotiate scope and cost changes with contractors.
  • Oversee procurement and installation of owner-furnished equipment, fixtures, and furniture.
  • Visit construction sites to assess progress, ensure quality standards, and manage punch list completion.
  • Interface with property owners, local municipalities, and code enforcement agencies as needed.
  • Lead MEP coordination and systems integration for each project.
  • Maintain accurate reporting on project milestones, risks, and financials.
  • Ensure compliance with lease requirements and safety regulations.
  • Address project issues proactively to minimize delays and cost overruns.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial construction management; retail grocery experience strongly preferred.
  • Proficient in CAD and construction document review.
  • Familiarity with project management tools such as Procore or Bluebeam.
  • Strong knowledge of MEP systems and lease terms.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Financial acumen for cost management and reporting.
  • PMP, CPC, or similar certification is a plus.
