About the Opportunity:

Our client, a well-established and growing commercial construction firm based in Connecticut, is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Construction Estimator to join their team. This is a great opportunity to work with a company known for delivering high-quality projects across a range of sectors including corporate, healthcare, education, and retail.

As a key member of the preconstruction team, the Estimator will play a crucial role in evaluating project plans, preparing accurate cost estimates, and supporting business development efforts through strategic pricing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review project drawings, specifications, and related documents to prepare detailed estimates and proposals
• Analyze subcontractor and supplier quotes for accuracy and scope
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and architects to ensure alignment on project scope and budget
• Assist with value engineering and cost-saving initiatives
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market trends, material pricing, and labor costs
• Participate in bid meetings, site walks, and preconstruction planning

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of estimating experience in commercial construction (ground-up and/or interior fit-outs)
• Strong knowledge of construction means and methods, materials, and building codes
• Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, ProEst, or similar)
• Excellent analytical and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
