Job Title: Construction Estimator
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Construction estimator who will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for HVAC installation and service projects. The ideal candidate will work closely with project managers, clients, and suppliers to ensure timely and precise quotes that align with both company goals and client expectations.
Responsibilities
* Review project specifications, blueprints, and drawings to assess HVAC project requirements.
* Calculate project costs, including labor, materials, equipment, and overhead.
* Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for HVAC installation, service, and retrofit projects.
* Collaborate with the sales and operations teams to develop competitive proposals and bids.
* Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and recommend alternative solutions.
* Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors.
* Conduct site visits to assess job conditions and gather necessary data for accurate estimates.
* Ensure compliance with local codes, regulations, and company standards.
* Track and manage estimates through the approval process.
* Provide support during project execution to monitor cost control and schedule adherence.
* Communicate with vendors and send quotes.
* Responsible for preparing submittals.
Essential Skills
* 3-6 years of experience as an HVAC Estimator or construction estimator.
* Strong understanding of HVAC systems, components, and installation processes.
* Knowledge of industry codes, regulations, and safety standards.
* Proficiency in estimating software such as Procore, Buildertrend, or equivalent.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
* Further education or certifications in HVAC, construction management, or related fields is a plus.
Work Environment
The work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM. The company is looking to expand to full MEP in the next five years and offers a great company culture with a small, tight-knit team.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.
