Description

We are in search of a Construction Bookkeeper to be a part of our team based in Van Nuys, California. The role involves maintaining financial records, handling transactions, and providing precise financial reports. The individual will also be expected to monitor customer accounts and take necessary actions.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounts payable and receivable associated with construction projects
• Handle vendor invoices, payments to subcontractors, and manage expense reports
• Conduct bank and credit card statement reconciliations
• Oversee job costs and evaluate them against project budgets
• Prepare and submit sales tax returns
• Create financial reports for the review of management
• Aid in the processing and documentation of payroll
• Keep both digital and physical financial records organized
• Use Sage accounting software proficiently to manage bookkeeping tasks
• Perform data entry tasks and utilize Microsoft Excel for financial data management
• Handle month-end close processes.
  
  
  

Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a bookkeeping role, preferably within the construction industry
• Proficiency in account reconciliation to ensure accuracy of financial data
• Experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Familiarity with bank reconciliations to monitor financial transactions
• Extensive knowledge and practical experience in bookkeeping procedures
• Proficiency in data entry, ensuring accurate and timely record keeping
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and financial reporting
• Experience in conducting month end close procedures to finalize financial activities of the month
• Ability to process and manage payroll accurately and punctually
• Proficiency in QuickBooks and Sage Software for managing financial data and transactions
