Description

Bizzell US is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Configuration Manager to oversee all configuration management activities under the FOH IT infrastructure and support services program. This role is responsible for maintaining the Configuration Management Database (CMDB), facilitating change control processes, and ensuring configuration integrity across FOH systems and assets.

The ideal candidate has experience supporting ITIL-based environments, change governance frameworks, and federal IT compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities

CMDB & Asset Configuration Management

  • Maintain an accurate and up-to-date Configuration Management Database (CMDB) for all IT systems, applications, and assets.
  • Ensure all configuration items (CIs) are properly identified, classified, and tracked throughout their lifecycle.
  • Develop and enforce configuration management standards and naming conventions.

Change Control & Governance

  • Implement and oversee Change Management processes in accordance with HHS and FOH policy.
  • Manage the documentation and approval process for system changes, updates, and new configurations.
  • Track and report on configuration changes using approved ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow).

Change Control Board (CCB) Participation

  • Coordinate and support Change Control Board (CCB) meetings by reviewing proposed changes, preparing agendas, and capturing minutes.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on configuration impacts during board discussions.

Auditing & Compliance

  • Conduct regular audits of configuration items to ensure compliance with documentation, security, and operational standards.
  • Reconcile CMDB data with physical and virtual system inventories.
  • Ensure the CMDB supports incident, problem, and release management functions.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Prepare and submit configuration reports, change logs, and audit findings to the COR or designated FOH stakeholders.
  • Update configuration documentation as systems evolve and support project transitions.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in configuration management or IT asset management.
  • Hands-on experience with CMDB platforms (ServiceNow preferred).
  • Knowledge of ITIL framework and best practices in configuration/change management.
  • Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • ITIL Foundation certification.
  • Experience supporting federal or HHS programs.
  • Familiarity with HHS Information Technology Enterprise Performance Lifecycle (ITEPLC) policies.
  • Working knowledge of systems such as FedHealth, ServiceNow, or Maximo.

Work Environment

  • Hybrid work model with part-time on-site presence at FOH HQ in Rockville, MD.
  • Participation in change control meetings and audits may require scheduled availability during standard EST business hours.
