Position Description
- Oversee and manage all IT configuration items (CIs) from commission to decommission, ensuring compliance with ITIL and QIAGEN standards and policies.
- Maintain and own the service configuration management process, ensuring it is effective and efficient.
- Design and implement a configuration management process to ensure that information about services and configuration items is accurate, up-to-date, and readily available when needed.
- Ensure control procedures are in place to protect the integrity of configurations, including software version control processes.
- Conduct regular audits to verify that the information in the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) is accurate and well-maintained.
- Coordinate with Change Management to handle changes related to the CMDB, ensuring that configuration items are mapped correctly.
- Conduct training sessions and process cascades on configuration management for key stakeholders.
- Prepare and maintain configuration management documentation, including plans, standard operating procedures (SOPs), guidelines, and work instructions.
- Generate reports on configuration management for performance analysis.
- Review the efficiency and effectiveness of the configuration management process regularly.
- Drive continuous service improvements to enhance the process and adapt to new ways of working.
Position Requirements
3–5+ years in configuration management, system administration, or related fields
Personal Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience with ITSM and IT Service Operations processes/frameworks (ITIL V3/V4 certification preferred).
- Proficiency in IT tools, with a strong preference for ServiceNow.
- Hands-on experience with Service Mapping and Discovery processes.
- Familiarity with Agile and DevOps methodologies.
- Ability to manage complex configurations and troubleshoot issues effectively.
