HORUS Technology Solutions is looking for a
Configuration Manager to join our team.
The Configuration Manager role will work as part of a software development team and be responsible for guaranteeing that software and technologies adhere to policies and standards. They work closely with cross-functional teams, including development, operations, and security, to apply expertise in developing, implementing, and enforcing configuration standards and best practices. Configuration Managers ensure that code changes enhance the resiliency and robustness of the system, minimizing potential impact. They are highly collaborative, communicative, and maintain documentation to ensure proper tracking, checkoffs, and accountability throughout the software delivery life cycle.
A top candidate would be very client focused. To be a strong team player you must be proactive in identifying issues and risks, and work with the client and the team to be a trusted advisor. Expect to move quickly in a fast-paced and fluid environment to drive the Agile development of a project roadmap, establish project milestones, and implement metrics to track progress, while bringing people together to make a tangible difference.
Qualifications
US Citizenship is required.
- Bachelor's degree in information technology or a related field and 4-8 years of experience in configuration management within a project management environment
- Strong expertise in using SharePoint and Teams platforms for document management and collaboration, including designing and implementing workflows
Responsibilities
- Define the CM scope and plan
- Establish and maintain the configuration baseline
- Control and manage the configuration changes throughout its lifecycle.
- Ensuring all components, versions, and changes are accurately documented and controlled.
- Enforcing change control processes to prevent inconsistencies and issues with system performance and functionality.
- Verify and audit the configuration status
- Improve and optimize the CM process and tools
- Collaborate with different teams like development, operation, and security to make sure CM practices are aligned across the projects
- Evaluating configuration tools to automate tasks and streamline CM process
- Create, manage, and merge code branches across several parallel development streams to sustain several monthly production releases
- Develop expertise in all aspects of the code base and review code changes before inclusion in a release
