Summary

Configuration Engineers are responsible for configuring the application to requirements requested by Implementation Specialists/Consultants. These activities include: configuring the software through the user interface, through back-end databases, scripts and via software tools; tracking, managing and providing regular updates on the progress of requests, consulting on best practice configuration and keeping up to date on processes, tools and functionality. What you'll do: Understand the business requirements outlined in each request to create the most optimal solution Configure the product to meet the complex needs and requirements of the customer (using Java, Python, JSON, Groovy, Jenkins, GitHub etc.) Collaborate with project managers and customers to ensure SLAs are met and quality of configuration is maintained Assist the project managers to gather requirements and consult with customers on the most optimal solution when required Mentor other analysts and assist them with solution design and troubleshooting Conduct peer reviews of configuration work completed by other analysts to ensure quality based on the original specifications Use case tracking systems to track and manage requests Provide excellent customer service to customers by phone, email and Salesforce Acquire technical product knowledge through training, self-directed research and testing, and internal consultation Test completed configuration to ensure solutions meet the original request Proactively provide updates to project managers and follow up with customers where needed on active requests Act as an internal technical product knowledge resource in collaborative training, testing and troubleshooting activities with colleagues Key resource on implementations that are identified as higher-revenue, sensitive, complex and/or strategic Recognize best practice improvements and offer suggestions for new best practices Recognized SME within the implementation team on at least one specific module Assist Configuration Analysts I & II with complex functions and database queries Collaborate with the various product teams to understand new functionality and assist in documenting the implementation process Evaluate existing internal business processes, anticipate new requirements and identify areas for improvement Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent years’ experience 3 years’ experience in customer service, support, web design/development or related role 3+ years’ experience with Object Oriented Java experience in a technical environment 3+ years’ experience in SQL in a Production environment 2+ years’ experience with Java, Python, JSON Knowledge of enterprise-level financial applications Without Bachelor’s degree: Minimum of 4 years’ experience in customer service, support, web design/development or related role; Strong knowledge and 3 years’ experience using Java, Python, Groovy, JSON, SQL Experience using Salesforce Certifications: None required What we are looking for: Critical thinking and problem-solving ability Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment under close supervision Strong interpersonal communication skills (written and verbal); ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users Balance multiple concurrent requests within set workload expectations Strong knowledge of business productivity software such as word processor and spreadsheet programs required, along with automation software experience Learner’s mindset with drive and ability to consistently improve knowledge and abilities Ability to apply analytical skills to validate results and troubleshoot issues using database queries Effectively communicate insights and proposals to cross-functional team members and management and logs
