About The Venue
Novotel Wollongong Northbeach is a contemporary 4.5-star beachside hotel located just an hour south of Sydney in the scenic Illawarra region. Overlooking North Wollongong Beach, it features 209 stylish rooms and suites with stunning ocean and mountain views. Catering to both leisure and business travellers, the hotel offers five dining venues, a pool, fitness centre, and a convenience store. About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate
Conference & Events Sales Manager to generate business for our incredible events spaces and F&B outlets. This role will be a
12-month Maternity Leave cover to start on July 1st. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing accounts, identifying new business opportunities, and working closely with our events and sales team to drive revenue. Strong communication skills, a proactive approach, and the ability to build lasting client relationships are essential. Most importantly this role will be responsible for developing and implementing sales strategies in conjunction with our Director of Sales.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to maximise conversion and upselling of all function, conferences, and event enquiries.
- Proactively generate new sales leads and pursue opportunities to maintain and enlarge client base, create an ongoing pipeline and drive revenue growth through active engagement with customer
- Report weekly/ monthly on sales activities and conversion against targets
- Prepare business proposals for all function, event and conference enquiries. Customise all aspects of proposals to create the most compelling offer.
- Monitor industry trends, competitor practices and ensure product and services remain competitive
- Develop relationships - Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, event planners, and other potential customers
- Doing deals - negotiate contracts and agreements with clients, ensuring a win-win situation for both parties
- Coordinate and communicate event requirements with clients to ensure all guests needs are met and have a proper handover to the operations team
About You

- Highly motivated sales professional with a passion for selling and building strong client relationships
- Experienced in similar roles within the hotel industry
- Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities
- You’re up to date on industry trends, and a passion for delivering exceptional events and functions
- Familiar with CRM systems and other relevant technology, Delphi experience a bonus
- Able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends where required for sales requirements
- Willing to be involved with hotel operations and lend a hand where needed
