COMPUTER PROGRAMMER

Location: Ridgecrest, CA

MUST Have an Active Dept of Defense Security Clearance: Active Secret

The All Weapons Information System (AWIS) is the NAVAIR system providing complete lifecycle tracking for many naval ordnance systems. The system provides comprehensive and timely information for the development, production, maintenance, follow-on engineering, acquisition, and logistics to support Fleet readiness, and help sustain sophisticated weapons systems and associated support equipment. AWIS is comprised of numerous interrelated applications and consists of active modules which facilitate business processes. These modules are at various stages of their lifecycle (requirements, beta test, or maintenance) and require talented staff with a solid dedication to the mission. This effort shall include training the test community and providing initial fleet orientation.

The Functional Responsibilities And Qualifications For This Position Include

  • Collects, organizes and interprets data relating to aircraft and product programs.
  • Performs data management.
  • Maintains configuration control of acquisition products and data.
  • Tracks configuration changes.
  • Coordinates and supports development of Engineering Change Proposals.
  • Applies government-instituted processes for documentation, change control management, and data management.

Required Experience

  • Journeyman Level:
    • At least five (5) years of experience in the configuration management process, which must include: configuration identification, configuration control, configuration audits and reviews, configuration status accounting, and experience with software development facilities, ancillary software testing, production, and operational use.
    • Of the five (5) years at least three (3) years of experience is required using configuration management software tools such as ClearCase, Git, CVS or Synergy.

  • Senior Level:
    • At least ten (10) years of experience in the configuration management process, which must include: configuration identification, configuration control, configuration audits and reviews, configuration status accounting, and experience with software development facilities, ancillary software testing, production, and operational use.
    • Of the ten (10) years at least six (6) years of experience is required using configuration management software tools such as ClearCase, Git, CVS or Synergy.
Education/Experience: BS or BA in a technical discipline

Education/Experience Substitution Criteria: If a Bachelor’s Degree is required, 6 years’ additional work experience meeting the required experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s Degree, except for personnel that are engineers. Also, an Associate’s Degree plus 4 years’ additional work experience meeting required experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s Degree, except for personnel that are engineers.
