Summary

Dynamic manufacturer in the Southeast Suburbs of Cleveland, OH (Solon) is looking for experienced people to help us keep up with growing demand. C ompetitive wage based on ability and experience.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Create CNC programs for 2 Mori Seiki Lathes, one with a barfeeder and a CMXV Mill.  This will be done by using conversational or offline programming, ex. Mastercam
  • Create documentation for CNC processes - tool lists, set-up sheets, diagrams, and pictures
  • Ensure Set-up sheets are kept up to date
  • Create process review via simulation as necessary
  • Provide programming and training support to machinists
  • Provide machining support when production dictates
  • Operate and maintain CAM system to develop repeatable and highly productive CNC processes
  • Problem-solve any software issues with the help of software support
  • Select tooling for the job and check the inventory
  • Select work holding for the job and check the inventory
  • Work with production to resolve unforeseen problems.
  • Prioritize work through effective communication with colleagues and management staff.
  • Stay up to date with machining and programming techniques

Skills, Experience, and Training

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Functional knowledge of offline CAM programs, ex Mastercam
  • Functional knowledge of calipers, tape measures, and measuring tools
  • Functional knowledge of types of cutting tools
  • Functional knowledge of tooling like face mills, end mills, index drills, reamers, axial and radial live tooling, etc.
  • Functional knowledge of cutter selection, speeds, feeds, chip load. Functional knowledge of IPM, MPM, IPR, SFPM
  • Functional knowledge of blueprint reading.
  • Functional knowledge of layout plans, engineering plans, drawings, and work instructions
  • Ability to determine the program order of operations, types of tools, types of tools and speeds and feeds
  • Functional knowledge of machining different metal types
  • Working knowledge of CNC lathes and vertical machining centers
  • Skilled at troubleshooting and resolving mechanical problems that arise
  • Able to take an idea and convert it into a tangible product
  • Exceptional time management skills in addition to a sense of urgency
  • Strong critical thinking/problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to think in 3D
  • Able to use digitized information
  • Experience working with teams. Strong team player with the ability to work across multiple functions and disciplines.
  • Conflict resolution skills include active listening, seeking understanding, team-building skills, emotional intelligence, and frequent effective communication.
