PRIMARY JOB FUNCTION
To Programme & machine components as required from drawing.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. To produce machined parts using the most suitable methods by either CNC or manually
operated equipment to required standard & quality within given time period.
2. To program CNC machines from manufacturing drawings, setting up, and operating;
maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and
supplies.
3. Program mills and lathes by entering instructions, including zero and reference points;
setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and calculating requirements, including basic
math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving CAM part programs.
4. Maintain specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing,
knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions;
troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing
worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
5. Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance records; following
manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions & calling for repairs where
necessary
6. To continuously monitor and improve working environment working in conjunction with the
companies 5S program.
7. To actively participate in their own development plan which will be agreed with the
departmental manager.
