Job Summary
Advanced Precision Machining, Inc. is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Machinist to join our team. Under general or minimal supervision, the CNC Machinist is responsible for performing setups of moderate complexity and operating conventional, special purpose, or CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines and machining centers to fabricate metallic and non-metallic components.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
•Interpret blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, and specifications to determine dimensions, tolerances, and machining requirements.
•Perform setups and operate machines such as mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders, and shapers.
•Measure, mark, and scribe dimensions on materials or workpieces to guide machining.
•Select and secure appropriate fixtures, cutting tools, accessories, and raw materials.
•Set and adjust machine controls or enter commands into CNC programs to regulate machining factors including speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth/angle of cut.
•Monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance conditions and make necessary adjustments.
•Verify dimensions and conformance using precision measuring and gauging instruments.
•Work closely with engineers, production staff, and programmers to resolve technical issues.
•Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety and quality standards.
•Perform routine maintenance and ensure all tooling and machinery remain in good working order.
Qualifications
•Previous hands-on experience in a CNC or conventional machine shop environment.
•Proficiency in blueprint reading and interpreting technical drawings.
•Strong understanding of basic math and trigonometry.
•Familiarity with CNC programming and setup.
•Ability to conduct first article inspections using standard precision instruments.
•Understanding of general manufacturing and machining processes.
Education and Experience
•High school diploma or GED required.
•Minimum of 3+ years of technical experience in a manufacturing environment; OR
•Two-year technical certificate from an accredited college or trade school plus 2+ years of relevant experience; OR
•An equivalent combination of education and experience.
Additional Requirements
