Description:
In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for the setup, operation, and basic maintenance of automated fiber placement equipment used in the fabrication of advanced composite components. You'll play a key role in producing precision parts that support some of the most advanced aerospace and defense systems in the world.
Responsibilities:
Set up and calibrate the VIPER machine according to job specifications
Load materials, such as carbon fiber or resin pre-impregnated tapes,
Programming and Execution:
Interpret engineering drawings, layup sequences, and machine programming.
Monitor automated fiber placement process and adjust parameters as needed to ensure precision.
Quality Assurance:
Inspect finished parts for defects like gaps, overlaps.
Record process parameters
Maintenance:
Perform regular maintenance, such as cleaning the machine/components.
Troubleshoot issues during operation and coordinate with maintenance teams for repairs.
Safety and Compliance:
Adhere to safety protocols when operating high-precision machinery.
Basic Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or GED
• 2 years of experience with composite manufacturing and or automated machine operation
• Operate and maintain an automated fiber replacement machine, the set up; calibration and programming to produce high precision composites parts
Preferred Qualifications:
• Proficient (1 year of experience) in CNC programming and trouble shooting
• Knowledge of composites material, resins systems, curing processes
