This is an ideal role for a highly motivated and experienced engineer with market insights in the electrical power industry, or for an individual with an engineering, automation, or industrial controls background who has a strong technical aptitude and experience in articulating applications and value proposition messaging. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing applications and associated resources within the metering and communicating products business. This is a mid-career application engineering role with support of Circuit Protection & Controls (CP&C) and Apparatus business units within Siemens Smart Infrastructure Electrical Products business unit. This position is a key technical resource reporting directly to the head of Application Engineering. This is a cross-functional role that will involve regular coordination with many departments including marketing, sales, business development leaders, R&D, product management and application engineering. You will make an impact with the following responsibilities: * Presales support for communications protocols (Modbus, Profibus, BACnet, etc), metering devices, and continuous thermal monitoring portfolio. * Providing direction for establishing Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and hardwired LAN and WAN networks for construction of SCADA networks. * Educate business partners regarding the evolving cybersecurity regulations and application requirements found in key industry standards. * Support integration of Siemens components into configuration and SCADA software portfolios. * Support customer training efforts and creating guides and collateral for external facing collateral. * Provide feedback to stakeholders regarding opportunities for improvement based on customer experience, market trends and shifts regarding existing products and software. * Focal point for metering and communication topics within the application engineering team. You'll win us over by having the following qualifications: Basic Qualifications: * BS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Information Systems. * 3 plus years of experience in customer-facing technical support, solutions engineering, or application engineering role. * Metering expertise and a clear understanding on metering standards ANSI and IEC standards (C12.1, C121.2, IEC 62052-3, etc.). * Ability to manage multiple customer engagements simultaneously. * Effective in cross-functional collaboration, including sales, marketing, R&D, and product teams. * Must be eligible to work in the US with no sponsorship now or in the future. Preferred Qualifications: * Experienced in industrial electrical systems, automation, or building infrastructure. * Can translate technical details into application value propositions. * Networking and Cybersecurity: Practical experience required; formal certifications are a plus. * Strong technical aptitude to quickly learn and understand complex systems. * Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. * Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
