The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Community & Social Performance Manager to join our Sustainability and Community Team in our Brisbane office on a permanent full-time basis.

Reporting directly to the Head of Community and Social Performance, you will be leading and building the maturity and effectiveness of APA's community and social performance approach across the business, to support constructive relationships with community stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Governance of group-wide community and social performance system and strategy.
  • Build and support effective social performance and community consultation and management capability across the business, including development of a competency framework.
  • Provide advice to the business based on emerging trends/issues in the external environment
  • Provide advice and support to business groups managing local procurement, employment, First Nations engagement and training initiatives.
  • SME guidance to Projects in early stage development, including contributing to tender approaches.
  • Governance and implementation of APA's Social Investment Framework and procedure in relation to community sponsorship programs and community investments to create meaningful and impactful outcomes in communities.
  • Leading internal communication activities that promote community partnerships as a key element of employee engagement.

Your background:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline required.
  • Substantial knowledge, including operations/projects and corporate experience, in the areas of social performance, human rights, First Nations engagement, formal consultation processes, preferably gained in the infrastructure, energy, mining, gas or other resources sector.
  • Proven track record of developing, implementing and governing comprehensive community relations frameworks and plans, with extensive internal and external stakeholder engagement.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing change management and process improvement and system optimisation strategies to deliver organisational performance and effectiveness.
  • Exceptional communication and risk identification and management skills, including presenting to external stakeholders and briefing senior APA representatives with confidence and credibility
