Position Overview
The Community Relations Specialist collaborates with fellow team members and management to conceptualize, develop, and facilitate marketing and community outreach projects. These projects are aimed at increasing awareness of Ackerman Cancer Center and its services to potential patients and referring physicians while maintaining current patient and referring physician relationships and engagement. This position is responsible for positioning the organization as a valued patient and community resource and a leader in oncology.
Essential Job Functions
- Assist and collaborate with Physician Relations, internal teams, physicians, and partners to execute marketing strategy.
- Assist in key day-to-day marketing initiatives including patient engagement and community outreach campaigns and events.
- Measure and present performance of strategic marketing and advertising campaigns.
- Partner with external marketing agency on deadlines, key dates, and status documents.
- Lead social media, digital and email marketing campaigns, liaison with outside vendors.
- Monitor trends in the healthcare industry, particularly oncology and radiation therapy.
- Maintain Ackerman Cancer Center’s website, blog, and web-based platforms.
- Ensure Ackerman Cancer Center’s brand image and guidelines are maintained and consistent throughout the practice.
- Conduct research on community resources, cancer-related organizations, and industry best practices to identify potential partnerships and collaboration opportunities. Assist in developing and maintaining relationships with community partners and sponsors.
- Collaborate with HR on employee engagement and recognition.
Requirements
Required
- Bachelor’s Degree in marketing or communications
- 3+ years of experience in marketing, public relations or related field
- Strong oral & written communication skills
- Proficient with research and statistical skills
- Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office software, especially Excel
- Proficiency with social media outlets and digital marketing channels
Preferred
- Master’s Degree in marketing, communications, or business administration
- Experience with website editing and graphic design (Wordpress, Adobe)
- Portfolio demonstrating leadership results for marketing campaigns and social media initiatives
Hours: Monday- Friday 8 AM- 4:30 PM
