Join American YouthWorks’ YouthBuild Program in Austin, TX! YouthBuild empowers young adults (16-24) who are not in school or employed by combining education, sustainable construction, and hands-on job training. Participants work toward their GED or high school diploma while gaining real-world skills in Media Corps, Casa Verde Builders, and Health Pathways. With a focus on academics, vocational training, and community service through AmeriCorps, the program also provides guided connections to employment, post-secondary education, and long-term support. As a Community Outreach & Volunteer Coordinator AmeriCorps member, you’ll play a crucial role in recruiting volunteers, building partnerships, and increasing community engagement. Additionally, you will assist with the program’s social media presence, creating content to promote volunteer opportunities, share success stories, and connect with potential participants. This role provides valuable experience in program development, volunteer management, and nonprofit networking. This is a full-time (M-F, 8-5) AmeriCorps position requiring 1,700 service hours, offering a living stipend, health benefits, and an education award. Member Duties : Community Partnership & Volunteer Coordinator AmeriCorps members recruit and manage volunteers through networking, presentations, and event outreach. Responsibilities include screening, training, and supervising volunteers, as well as organizing recognition activities like awards and events. Members also assist with managing the program’s social media, creating content to promote opportunities, share success stories, and boost engagement. They assist with digital marketing, maintain volunteer records, and support YouthBuild Austin, YouthBuild USA, and AmeriCorps training and service projects. Additional duties include planning service days and fostering partnerships with local and national AmeriCorps programs. Strong leadership and the ability to serve as role models for at-risk youth are essential.
