Peo Vee is seeking a dynamic and passionate intern to support our growing community of upcyclers, creatives, and sustainability advocates. This is an unpaid internship offering college credit (course credit required). The ideal candidate will play a key role in fostering engagement, strengthening our online presence, and contributing to the growth of our community.

This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in building and nurturing an online community while learning best practices for growing and converting members into loyal supporters. You'll work closely with the Founder to help drive the mission of Peo Vee: turning creative reuse into a mainstream movement.

This position is remote and part time, approximately 10hrs per week, with possible in-person working sessions in the Los Angeles area during the internship. Additionally, on the second Sunday of each month, you’ll be required to join a community meetup near Abbott Kinney from 2:00pm - 6:00pm.

Responsibilities

• Engage with Peo Vee's community members across multiple platforms, responding to questions and fostering meaningful conversations.
• Develop and implement strategies to increase community engagement and drive growth throughout the summer.
• Be a visible and active presence in the community, sharing your own creative projects (it’s not about perfection—it’s about participation!) and encouraging others to join in.
• Actively interact with community members by liking, sharing, and tagging posts when appropriate.
• Facilitate engagement activities such as virtual meetups, daily prompts, monthly project themes, and more to keep the community involved.
• Assist in organizing and promoting community events, including workshops, meetups, and social media campaigns.
• Plan and execute social media content to attract new members and increase community visibility.
• Collaborate with the Founder to develop initiatives that align with our mission to promote creative reuse and sustainability.
• Help set up community onboarding tools such as checklists, welcome emails, and other essential resources to ensure a smooth experience for new members.
• Monitor and analyze community metrics, such as member churn, subscriber growth, and engagement rates, offering insights for continuous improvement.
• Create reengagement campaigns, like email flows for disengaged members, to encourage renewed participation.

Remnants, our marketplace, extends this vision by giving secondhand art and craft supplies a new life. By making pre-owned materials accessible and affordable, we support both sustainability and creativity, diverting usable goods from landfills and into the hands of makers.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with social media platforms such as Instagram and TikTok; some content creation experience preferred
• A creative inclination and willingness to participate in and create small arts and crafts projects for our monthly creative themes (we’ll provide supplies within certain limitations)
• A passion for climate and sustainability
• Must be pursuing education related to marketing, communications, or community organization
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Punctual, reliable, and optimistic with a proactive approach to tasks
