Position Overview
The Public Health Modernization Program Manager coordinates and implements all activities of the NARA public health modernization project, and oversees the hiring, supervising, training and development of project team staff. The priorities of this position include leading agency-wide disaster recovery planning, public health data infrastructure and improvement, and health promotion and chronic disease management and prevention. This position reports to and works closely with the Director of Chronic Disease and the Chief Health and Wellness Officer.
What You Will Do
- Supervise Public Health Modernization team staff, including reviewing and approving timecards, conducting performance reviews, providing coaching and feedback to employees, and identifying personal growth opportunities for all employees.
- Recruit, orient, and train new employees.
- Work with leadership to report grant activities, initiate contract amendments, track budget expenditures, reallocate funds as needed.
- Develop and implement strategic plans for public health priorities, including communicable disease control and outbreak management, environmental health, emergency preparedness and response, and population-based health data collection and reporting to stakeholders. Include strategies to build and sustain public health infrastructure at NARA NW
- Work closely with the Quality Management, Grants, Health Information Technology, Medical, Chronic Disease, Behavioral Health, Development, and Evaluation and Research Leadership teams to design, execute and champion NARA NW’s public health priorities.
- Participate in committees across the agency commensurate with public health priorities, for example, Workplace Wellness Committee, Safety Committee, and Events Planning Committee.
- Work with Public Health Modernization team to develop and implement monthly public health awareness messaging and campaigns for social media and NARA NW staff.
- Develop and deliver presentations that allow visualization of community health data for stakeholders, to improve buy-in.
